About The Creator
Performer
They have been performing in all sorts of performing arts mediums for their entire life. The Arts are as much a part of Julia as Julia is an active member of the performing arts community. Julia began their professional singing career at the age of fifteen, joining the professional choir at Mainline Reform Temple in 2010. From that experience, they connected with tons of performance artists and directors of various mediums and performed as a soprano and mezzo soprano soloist and section leader for various religious and affiliate choral organizations such as The Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia, Vox Ama Deus Consort and Ensemble, Operacation, ZFestival, and various independent theatrical experiences. Julia is still a very active performer in various genres and artistic mediums including operatic, musical theatre, pop, barbershop, and rhythm and blues singing, dance, and acted theatre.
Teacher
As they were budding into a versatile performing artist, Julia found a passion in connecting with humanity and making their community a positive and joyful space through teaching. They began teaching in high school at the Kinder Academy daycare and day school and graduated to teaching individuals vocal health and production throughout their experience learning to teach at Temple University, where they received their Bachelor of Education with a concentration in voice.
Julia found work in the School District of Philadelphia as a general music teacher for ages Kindergarten through eighth grade. In these programs, they found an artform and joy in the puzzle of curriculum creation, using their experiences teaching the modern generation paired with the Pennsylvania standard objectives to create memorable learning moments.
Forever hungry for knowledge, Julia attended Gratz College to receive their Master of Education with a concentration in culture, climate, and classroom management, where they learned to hone the skills required to connect with students who are lost and looking for support from their teachers. Social Emotional Learning (SEL) therefore became the most important technique of teaching to Julia in order to meet their goals of making their community feel ready to achieve their own personal goals in life and the performing arts.
Julia shifted their focus to teaching High School Performing Arts within the Bensalem School District and enjoyed the process of learning how the human develops from an early stage of learning into adulthood. They taught specialized skills in acting technique, songwriting and modern ensemble techniques, movement, vocal techniques for actors and singers, and music comprehension. Extracurricularly, they were involved in directing vocal ensembles, various fundraisers and field trips, and several full musical productions including Mean Girls Jr. and Little Shop of Horrors.
Healer
In October of 2025, Julia fell severely and chronically ill. It’s an ever-evolving process including several trips to the ER, countless tests, many denials of care, and months and months of failing physical health. In February of 2026, they had to leave their position in classroom teaching because it was all too much. Mental health and physical health now suffering, they believed their life was over.
Julia reached a point where that life was precious and changes needed to happen in order to make life as comfortable and joyous as possible. This included months of diet retraining, physical training on multiple occasions, and mindset retraining, rearranging priorities. Every time their health plummeted from this unknown sickness, they worked tirelessly to heal themselves of the mental and physical injuries of each acute, terrifying health moment.
Julia considered the possibility that they could once again teach in their community on their own terms with a flexible, thriving, and holistic service that could benefit themselves as a teacher, learner, and lover of the performing arts as well as give that gift to the community at large, thus forming the idea for Performing Life LLC. Being able to walk again, eat their favorite foods again, participate in their favorite activities, and experience precious moments from living a normal life was all due to the love and support of their close family and friends, the tireless research fellow chronic illness havers have provided over time, and the grit and perseverance to keep living that Julia chooses every morning upon waking up. We are raging rivers, always flowing, always moving through life.
